Privacy Policy
Last updated October 16, 2026
Seasons of You is an iPhone app made by Micah Nolte (“we”). It helps parents line up photos of their child over time. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the app and this website.
The short version
- Your photos stay on your iPhone. We never receive them.
- There’s no account. We don’t know your name, email or anything about your family.
- The app sends a few anonymous counts, like “a film was made today”, so we can see which features are used. They can’t be tied to you, and you can turn them off.
- We don’t sell data, show ads or track you across other apps or websites.
Your photos
Everything the app does with your photos happens on your iPhone: finding faces and eyes, lining photos up, and making films. Photos you add are copied into the app’s own storage on your device. New portraits you take are also saved to your photo library, in an album called “Seasons of You”, so the originals are always yours.
To line photos up, the app uses Apple’s on-device tools to find where the eyes are in each photo. It keeps only those positions. It doesn’t create face templates, recognize who someone is, or compare faces across photos.
Names, nicknames and birthdays you enter are stored only on your iPhone. If you use iCloud Backup or iCloud Photos, Apple stores those copies under Apple’s privacy policy; we can’t see them.
Permissions
- Photos: to show your library so you can choose photos, and to save new portraits to it.
- Camera: to take new portraits, lined up with the last one.
You can change either in the iPhone’s Settings app at any time.
Anonymous usage counts
To learn which features help people and where things go wrong, the app sends us a short note when certain things happen:
- The app was opened that day, and whether it was the first time ever, this week or this month (the app remembers this on your iPhone, so we can count how many people use it without knowing who).
- A journey was started.
- Photos were lined up, with the number in a range (1–5, 6–20 or more) and which part of the app they came from.
- A new portrait was taken with the camera.
- A film was made, and whether it was the 4:5 or 9:16 shape.
- The upgrade screen was shown, and which feature led to it.
- Premium was bought.
Each note also includes the calendar day (not the time), the app version, the iOS version, and whether the app came from the App Store or a test build. That’s all. Notes never include photos, names, birthdays, ages, locations, or any identifier for you or your device, and we don’t store IP addresses. Because nothing in them points to a person, we can’t look up, show or delete “your” counts; there’s no record that is yours.
You can turn this off in the app under Settings › Share anonymous usage. We delete these counts after 13 months.
Purchases
Premium is sold by Apple through the App Store. Apple handles payment; we never see your payment details or Apple Account. The app checks your purchase with Apple on your device.
Children
Seasons of You is for parents and guardians. Photos of children stay on the parent’s iPhone, and the app doesn’t send us any information about the children in them. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. If a change affects what the app sends, we’ll say so in the app’s release notes.
